Awareness

We are increasingly aware of the dramatic and dire impacts the fashion industry has on our Earth's environment and our home. Much of this is a result of harmful textile production practices , over-production and and the impact of consumerism. As designers, manufacturers and people who call Earth home, textile importers it is important we find as much information as possible for our clients to make informed choices.

Our Fabrics

At this point in time, we can advise that the majority of our fabrics (Silks, Triacetate blends,Viscose and Tulles) are produced to the Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex.

Oeko-Tex (International Association for Research and Testing in the Filed of Textile and Leather Ecology) grade and test products and fabrics within the fashion industry based on their extensive criteria catalogue. Standard 100 means that the components of the fabric have been tested for harmful substances (no harsh chemicals, pesticides or dyes etc.) and has been made sustainably in safe, responsible working conditions. Non-toxic to you or our environment.

Tri-Acetate

The main component of our Tri-Acetate fabrics is made from the pulp of natural wood. This yarn carries an FSC® Forest Certification. This certification is given to products made from wood obtained from well-managed and sustainable forests based on standards by the forest stewardship council.

We believe in traceability and accountability, which is why we are proud that the Tri-Acetate manufacturer is also a system partner for bluesign®. This certifies that the fibre products supply chain is sustainable in terms of resources, people and the environment. It also guarantees the safety of the people who work for that company.
