About

Courte Collection was founded in 2021 by two friends with a shared love of bridal fashion, and a passionately complimentary skill set.

Working from their Melbourne atelier, they design minimal, chic styles for a fashion conscious, sustainability savvy bride with a desire to express their individuality and buy a versatile and considered option to celebrate all the events surrounding the wedding day and long after.

Our Story

Anastasia Tushuizen excelled in International buying, marketing and styling. Named as one of VOGUE Australia's “Young Ones to Watch”, she quickly made a name for herself on the high-fashion scene before launching her luxury bridal boutique, Carte Blanche Bride, in her hometown of Melbourne.

Meanwhile, Tania Stokes always knew she would have a career in fashion. Growing up with her Japanese mother, in a home filled with beautiful, handmade garments, dressing up was de rigueur and creativity was encouraged. Tania made her first dress on her mother's sewing machine aged 9 and before long was taking commissions from friends and family.

An alumni of the prestigious Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology School of Fashion, Tania graduated with a BA in Fashion Design. Borne from private commissions, driven solely by word of mouth, Tania left her job at a leading Australian Couture House to launch Tania Stokes Couture in the early nineties, creating one-of-a-kind event outfits, for a discerning clientele.

Post pandemic, Anastasia and Tania saw a shift in the bridal landscape, both in terms of trend and mindset. The way couples were getting wed had changed: requests for short reception dresses were becoming frequent, whilst brides demanded quality of product, made in a sustainable way. And so a collaboration between Anastasia and Tania evolved.
